A North Shore COVID-19 Cleaning Case Study

COVID 19 Cleaning & Disinfecting Service

introduction

More Than A COVID Cleaning Service

ServiceMaster Fire & water Cleanup Services was contacted by a homeowner from the NorthShore area. Mr. Meyer was concerned because he and his wife were both recovering from COVID-19 and he didn't want anyone entering his 2,5000 Square foot home to become potentially ill with the virus. The office scheduler conducted a remote pre-screening with Mr. Meyer over the phone, who wanted to know more about our cleaning & disinfection process.

The offices scheduler explained the cleaning process, answered any questions, and inquired about the home's square footage, general layout, and flooring type. Last, the job documents requiring signature were emailed to Mr. Meyer in advance of service.

THE PROBLEM

Mr. & Mrs. Meyers wanted to know how long it would take once the cleaning crew arrived.

THE PLAN

Jackie, the lead project manager, put on her personal protective gear and took a tour inside the Meyer's home. After analysis she advised it would take about a hour and a half. The Meyer's decided to grab a coffee & Jackie would give them updates throughout the process

OUR WATER DAMAGE CLEANUP PROCESS

Step 1: Cleaning

The first step was to clean all surfaces and flooring with EPA cleaning solutions starting with the upper floor and working their way down to the basement (the top-down process). The floors in all rooms were HEPA vacuumed and or mopped with an all-purpose cleaning solution.

Step 2: Disinfection

The second step in the cleaning & disinfection process for the Meyer home was for the team to begin disinfection. Disinfection includes hand wiping of all surfaces in the home with CDC recommended and EPA approved disinfectant and must be allowed to dwell on surfaces for the proper amount of time in order to kill disease-causing microorganisms. The team uses clean microfiber towels to hand wipe all surfaces during disinfection cleanings.

Step 3: Virus Protection

Concentrated GoldShield solutions is applied using electrostatic battery powered back-pack fogging/spraying machines. Goldshield covers all surfaces and does not harm equipment, upholstery, rugs, beds, furniture, or other appliances found in homes.

RESULTS

When combined with our expert cleaning and santizing protocols, the antiseptic and antimicrobial application system can actively kill microorganisms on surfaces potentially for up to 90 days. The solution is non-toxic, water-based, odorless, dries clear in 10-15 minutes and is safe for children and pets. after about 1.5 hours of cleaning & disinfection, Jackie contacted Mr. Meyer to let him know that the work was finished and he and his wife could return home. When Mr. Meyer arrived, Jackie recommended opening a few windows and doors in the home to do a fresh air exchange after the disinfection process. Mr. Meyers and his wife were surprised that cleaning was finished in such a timely manner and that the entire process was explained to him on the phone and then again during the walk-through. He was very pleased to have a deeply cleaned & disinfected home.
